There is always a stack of resumes in front of the hiring manager.  Almost all resumes seem to be similar but well written resume always stand out from the crowd.  If you are intended to get a job you must be aware of personal details as well as resume style.  The layout and resume styles are as important as your experience and qualifications.  There is a myth among people that resume purpose is to get them a job. Actually resume open and close the door of your job. Their main purpose is to make the employee interested enough to call you for an interview. Experts commonly use two types of resume styles such as chronological and functional styles. 


Chronological Style

Chronological style is most popular style used for a resume.  This type of resume include objective as well as summery. It also includes a detailed description of education such as name of the institutions, year of pass out, percentage or marks obtained, skills, certificates and so on. In addition to it, if you have a work experience, employee details are also included in it. This type of resume is a treasure for the people who have work experience and it will throw chances far away for a fresher. 


Functional Style

Functional style is mostly used by the people who have gap in their work history, who are re-entering the workforce, who are frequently changes their jobs, who are looking to transition in new careers . This type of resume gives less importance to work experience and highlights abilities, such as hiring, managing or coaching. Here work experience is mentioned at the bottom of the resume in a summarized form. 

Always write your resume using brain not using pen. Think well how you can perform an interview using the resume you are creating. If you are completely aware of the contents in your resume you can wide open the eyes of an interviewer otherwise he will close your mouth.  Remember one thing a resume style can change your life style so, use a creative resume style.

Resume Tips for college students

If you are hunting for a job or you are trying to change your current job, you must have a polished resume. Many students have lack of work experience, so they think that their resume looks less impressive. Never caught by such temptations, this is the guaranteed way to lose your chance for an interview call. Besides you understand one thing that resume is not a work history but it is a chance to demonstrate that you have skills necessary to do a job. You can reach your dream job easily through an eye-catching resume.

Heading
There should be a neat heading at the top of your resume which includes your name, mail address, phone number. If you have a professional website includes it too.

Education
There should be a tabulated list of your academic details which include name of the institution, passing out year, percentage of the marks obtained. If you had done any projects give a brief description about it.

 Objective
It is the best way to include two or more sentences that in brief describe your goals for the position.

Selected Experience
This list can include any job, internships, volunteer positions or other professional experiences that are relevant to the position. Keep job descriptions as short as possible, highlighting only relevant duties.


Skills
You should include all professional skills such as computer skills foreign language skills or creative skills.

Honors & Awards
You can highlight special achievements, academic awards that can demonstrate your diligence and hard work.

Activities & Special Interests
You can include intangible skills like leadership or communication. You can also include involvement in organizations that are relevant to the position.

When an employer turns the pages of stack of hundreds of resumes, he or she is going to select the one that looks best without reading a single word. Students usually think about resumes only after college life, if they are willing to gain job next. At that time they will have only the academic knowledge, they will not have much job experience.
